With a nod to Love Story, our working-class heroine catches the eye of a privileged boy, Chase (Robert Hoffman), who's captivated by Andie's dance chops and genuine heart. Andie's fierce sense of self helps ground the film. At one point she lectures Chase, "Look, the streets is about where you're from. It's not some school talent show. There's no spring floors. There's no spotlights!" But the true star of the film is its amazing dance sequences, and the talented cast works the moves for all they're worth. Step Up was recommended to me by a friend in Ireland who knew I liked films on dancing. Bought both Step Up I and II and thoroughly enjoyed watching the uninhibited dancing styles and their creation even though I am an octagenarian.
 Another Lame Attempt at a dance movie August 21, 2008
This a typical hollywood movie trying to lure in younger crowds by making a movie about people who know how to dance and throwing tons of sexuality into it. How come they can't lure teens into movie theaters by coming up with something more interesting and intelligent? Ok, so what the characters in this movie can dance?!!! Then we have to endure some crappy storyline thrown in about a couple of characters who fall in love. These kind of movies are getting old.
pre-ordered brand new Step Up 2 The Streets August 17, 2008
Found Step Up 2 through this seller. Put it on pre-order and a few days after the DVD's nationwide release it was at my house. Good service. No damage and in great condition out of the package. I am satisfied with this purchase and would purchase through this seller again.
